woodland edge walk

  • 60 Knibloe Hill Road Sharon, CT, 06069 United States (map)

Spring Ephemeral Wildflowers Fully booked!

Come visit and walk the woods-edge to identify and discuss North East native wildflowers at this special moment in the season. The convergence of geographical zones has resulted in a unique habitat for wildflowers here on the farm in North West CT. Forested upland acidic soil types meet high mineral content silt-loams, and the result is a diverse group of spring wildflowers.

We are working to create a sustainable habitat for these beauties by removing invasive woody plants and biennials.

Our birding expert Brad Klein will be walking along with us: The unique habitat, woods, water and field bring a diverse group of summer migrants in their breeding glory.
